The Hike

From the check-in tent to the Backcountry Tap Room bars at the top, expect to go about 2.5 miles one way. The hike is considered easy with about 500′ of elevation gain to 9,000′. The trail is comprised of old 4×4 roads and will be clearly marked with trail signage – keep your head up and  look for our signage as you go.

The Beer

Redeem your 4 beer tickets throughout the day at one of our two bars at the top. 1 special ticket is good for the new 12 oz Spruce Tip IPA, while the other 3 are good for a selection of our 12 oz canned offerings. Beers are to be consumed on-site and will be opened upon ordering. Please recycle cans after you enjoy.

You must show your 21+ wristband at the bar when ordering. Last call is at 4:30 pm.

Food – Smokehouse BBQ at the Top!

Pair your brews and views with some delicious barbecue brought to you by Smokehouse BBQ from Winter Park. You earned it! They’ll be selling bbq sandwiches with chips and water at the top from 12-3 pmCASH ONLY.

5 Tips from Leave No Trace

Plan ahead before the day! Check the weather and realize that it can change fast – bring layers, RAIN GEAR, appropriate footwear, water, sunscreen, and anything else you may need.

Your dogs are welcome on a leashPicking up after your pet and packing it out or properly disposing of it when it happens in the correct waste bin is imperative – we’ll have some extra poop bags and a station at the mid-point of the hike!

Greening stations (recycle/compost/waste) will be available. Upslope & Leave No Trace will ensure that all discards are disposed of properly after the event. Please familiarize yourself with the event’s greening practices to help us keep it green!

Be considerate of your fellow hikers – respect everyone on the trail and protect the quality of their experience.

Stick to the trail, even if wet, muddy or icy. This helps protect trailside plants and erosion and keeps everyone safe!

Help us keep it green!

As a certified B Corp, Upslope does our best to keep our events as close to zero waste as possible. Help us keep it green by familiarizing yourself with our waste recepticles and by properly sorting your discards at each waste station to avoid comingling and contamination of any kind.

All pet waste will need to go in the Landfill container. We will also have special receptacles labeled specifically for pet waste if you are not able to pack it out on your own. Leave No Trace will have bags available at Check-in, halfway up the trail and at the top.

Please do not leave any bags on the trail to “pick up later”.

Last Few Things…

– No smoking.

– Furry friends are welcome, but must be on a leash at all times. Make sure to pick-up after your pup, too!

– Please be mindful of wildlife in the area and be sure to exercise Leave No Trace principles (pack it in, pack it out!)

– Alcohol consumption is permitted in designated event areas marked by the Backcountry Tap Room bar and should not extend on to trails.

– No refunds. Event is rain, snow or shine.
